Department of Telugu

The Kasamsetty Subhdramma and Narayanaswamy Government Degree College for Women, Anantapuramu,was started in the year of 1985.  Since inception of the College, Department of  Telugu was a main part of it. With One sanctioned post, it is a successful department with  eminent scholars. At present Smt B. Hemamalini is the Lecturer -In charge of the Department, with one Guest faculty, Sri B. Prahlada.

On demand from students , at UG level , Advance Telugu was introduced with History & Political Science combination from the Academic year 2013-14. At PG level, M.A.- Telugu is added to the Department. With Advance Telugu ,  the department is proud enough to serve 45 students at UG level and 20 at PG level.

To improve the Communication skills &  personality of  rural women students of Rayalaseema region, the  Department of Telugu is organizing many student oriented programs . Usually,  they are busy with competitions like Essay writing, Elocution, Quiz, Fine Arts competitions and thus sharpening their talents. They proved their capability by participating in  various District and State level competitions too.

Here is the  list of  notable activities organized by Department of Telugu from the Academic year 2013-14 onwards.

 Arranged a Guest Lecture on “ Short story writing ” to motivate the students to enrich their knowledge with the help of Eminent Local Short Story Writers.

 “ Kavi Sammealan”  was  organized in collaboration with District Writers Association to develop creativity in our students.

 Another major event  “Ashtavadhaana”  was organized on the eve of celebrating 30th   Anniversary with a Special attraction i.e., the first woman Avadhaani, Smt. Prabhavathi, to highlight women’s role in male-dominated area of Avadhanam

To it’s feather another prestigious program was added viz., Bhuvana Vijayam programme, a Drama on Srikrishnadevaraya and his famous Ashta Diggajas

“An interactive program on  Lesson writing”with famous Lesson Writers of their 1st and 2nd year text books was successfully added to the list.

 In collaboration with Kendra Saahitya Academy, A One day “Symposium on Vidwan Viswam” was arranged on the occasion of Birth Centenary of famous writer cum Poet Sri Vidwan Viswam. 

 

“Meet the Author” was a program of interaction with PadmaShriKolakaluri Enoch a famous Indian writer, teacher, and former Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara UniversityTirupati.

1.Motivating the students with various interesting programs like “Mathrubhaashaa Dinotsvam”, “Aadhunika Telugu Bhaashaa Dinotsavam” etc., on the occasions of  Birth and Death Centenary Celebrations of famous Telugu poets and writers.

2. Students had an opportunity of participating & exposing their talents in various programs of FM Radio Station of Anantapur.

4 As a team, we the Lecturers of the department along with our students, could successfully bring out the “College Magazine” with all major events from 2013-14 onwards. With the cooperation of  Departments of Sanskrit & Hindi, an “Annual Magazine” is published in the name of  Departments of Second languages.

5.A District Level Quiz program in Second Languages was conducted on the platform of DRC, Ananthapuramu.
